Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has commended the lawmaker representing Owo/Ose federal constituency, Hon. Timehin Adelegbe, for his outstanding leadership and commitment to providing dividends of democracy to his constituents.
Aiyedatiwa, who made this commendation during the grand finale of the N1 billion mega empowerment programme at Owo, headquarters of the Owo Local Government Area of the state, described Adelegbe as an exemplary leader, a great lawmaker, and the most outstanding House of Representatives member.
The governor, who is contesting in next Saturday’s governorship election in the state, praised Adelegbe for his uncommon commitment to the welfare of his constituents and the state, describing him as a worthy ambassador of his people.
Aiyedatiwa said, “It can only take a man with a large heart and genuine love for his people to invest in such huge empowerment programmes for his people.
“In short, I must congratulate the people of Owo and Ose; you are indeed lucky to have Adelegbe as your representative at the National Assembly. What I’m seeing here today is a clear testimony that you have individually and collectively made the right choices.
“We praise Hon. Adelegbe for his selfless service, integrity, and passion for development. He is indeed a shining example of a true leader, cultivating the potential of tomorrow’s leaders and enhancing community well-being.
“He has proven himself to be a true representative of the people, always putting their interests above his own. His humility, compassion, and empathy have endeared him to the hearts of many.
“I am proud of this excellent performance. This is a huge empowerment, I must confess. This massive empowerment will definitely translate to huge votes for our party, APC, on Saturday, 16th of November, as you can only continue to enjoy these kinds of empowerment if you return us to power, as we cannot afford to be in the opposition at the state.”
Aiyedatiwa urged other lawmakers to emulate Adelegbe’s exemplary leadership and commitment to the welfare of their constituents, and the group encouraged him to sustain the tempo of his impactful work.
Speaking, the donor, Hon. Adelegbe, explained that the mega empowerment was the sixth since he was elected as a member of the House of Representatives, representing Owo/Ose federal constituency at the National Assembly, Abuja.
He said, “Every year, I must remember my people, and I will not stop giving back to my people who elected me.
“Your Excellency and the good people of Owo and Ose, let me use this good opportunity to inform you that, in a few weeks’ time, I will flag off the construction of the seven-kilometre Ute Road and Owo & Ifon township stadiums.
“These are in addition to the ongoing solar lights in various communities in Owo and Ose, where I have built palaces, town halls, and bridges to appreciate my people.”
Adelegbe stated further that “All I need is to employ you to reciprocate this gesture and vote massively for APC and the candidate of our party, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on Saturday, 16th November.”
Some of the beneficiaries commended Adelegbe for contributing to their businesses, especially at this critical period.
Some of the items distributed at the ceremony included motorcycles, hair dryers, sewing machines, water pump machines, generators, Keke Napep, vulcanising machines, freezers, and refrigerators.
Some of the dignitaries at the event included royal fathers: Oba Gbadegesin Ogunoye, Onidogun Oba Moses Ekundayo Bakare, Alafo, Oba Stephen Adegoke Egunjobi, Olupeme, Olute, Oluyere, and Asuada, among others.
