The National Chairman of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) Phase 2 Leaders Forum, Ibena Rufus Salvation has urged youths of the Niger Delta to remain calm and peaceful to enable Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to carry out its developmental plans for the crude oil-rich region.
In a statement issued in Yenagoa, Ibena condemned the recent call by critics for the removal of the Special Assistant on Youth to the managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mathew Dango.
He acknowledged the grievances expressed by some factions but emphasised that Mathew Dango is diligently performing his duties by the directives of his superior and managing director of the NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku.
Ibena further noted that the special assistant lacks the authority to make approvals or executive decisions, clarifying that Dango’s role is strictly confined to following the orders given to him by his boss.
He commended Dango for his efforts and assured the general public that Dango was doing his best in his capacity to support the NDDC’s mission.
The Phase 2 national chairman called for unity and understanding, stressing that leadership in the Niger Delta requires cooperation and patience for the greater good of the region.
