Umuona Community in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, has installed a new Traditional ruler, Igwe Sunday Ezeofor, following the dethronement of Chief Humphrey Ejesieme, by the State Government.

Speaking after his installation by the people of Umuona Community, Igwe Ezeofor, who thanked the community for the confidence reposed in him maintained that he will use the traditional stool to work towards bringing lasting peace in the community for enhanced development.

Igwe Ezeofor, who called on his subjects to close rank and forget the past, while assuring of great prospects, commended the State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo for his efforts aimed at bringing even development across Anambra State especially his road construction and reconstruction initiative which he noted will go a long way in opening up the hinterlands.

On his remark, The President General, Umuona Progressive Union, Chief Kenneth Okoli, reassured Governor Chukwuma Soludo of their total support and loyalty.

Chief Okoli said that the people of Umuona will continue to support the efforts of the governor towards making Anambra State livable and prosperous homeland.

He lauded the state government for all its efforts towards bringing lasting peace in all the communities across the state especially in Umuona Community, noting that the singular act is a clear indication that Governor Soludo is prepared and committed to serve.

Chief Okoli also applauded Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Mr. Tony-Collins Nwabunwanne for his role towards restoring peace and unity in Umuona Community.

Others, who spoke during the ceremony, including Reverend Father James Nnoruga, who is also a lecturer, called for prayers for more peaceful coexistence in the community.

All the village Heads in Umuona Community were highly represented during the event, including critical stakeholders.
