The former governor of Osun State and current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, has denied allegations made by Governor Ademola Adeleke that he is planning to destabilize Osun State.

Oyetola stated that there is no truth in the accusation, emphasizing that his record over the past fifteen years shows no evidence of such intentions.
A statement from his media office also stressed that the minister has never been involved in any activity that could disturb the peace of Osun State.

“For the four years he governed Osun, he demonstrated himself as a peaceful leader who respected the law and detested violence. If he were a troublemaker, he would have caused chaos when the 2022 election results were contested.
“Similarly, in 2022, when Governor Ademola Adeleke used his influence to remove elected local government chairmen and councilors, Oyetola, as our leader, did not incite violence but rather led party members to seek justice in court.
“Fortunately, his party emerged victorious at the Court of Appeal last week. As a peace-loving leader, he urged security agencies to ensure the court’s judgment is upheld. How then can such a person be accused of plotting unrest? I believe anyone accusing Oyetola of planning to cause trouble should get a mental check,” the statement read.
Oyetola also urged Governor Adeleke to respect the Court of Appeal’s judgment instead of tarnishing his image with baseless accusations that lack legal backing.
