In the spirit of Eid-el-Kabir festival, a chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Oyo, Hon. Akinjide Kazeem Akinola, has played host to leaders and stakeholders of the party.
Akinola, who hosted party members, loyalists, communities, religious and traditional leaders, business and political associates in his country home at Egbeda Local Government Area of Ibadan, explained that there was “a need to bring ourselves together in a time like this to chat and relate with one another and strengthen the progressive bonds that exist amongst us.”
Speaking through his media assistant, Akintunde Yusuf, Akinola said; “This is not the first of this kind of gathering. We have made it an annual ritual for us to set aside our differences, relate together and chart ways forward among ourselves.”
“We can all see that our party leaders beyond Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency are here. Also many stakeholders and members of the party chatting and relating with one another. This is a sign that APC is under one roof as against what anybody may be saying outside that our party is not united.”
While speaking to newsmen, former Egbeda state constituency lawmaker, Hon. Olasunkammi Samson hailed Akinola’s commitment to further strengthen and unite the party leaders and members as we move forward to the next political dispensation.
In his words, Olasunkanmi said, “Akinola is a fantastic man that God blessed the federal constituency with. With him not in office, he has been doing fantastically good for the interest of the party.
Corroborating Olasunkanmi’s eulogy of Akinola, Hon. Aderemi Ogundele, a former Chairman, Ona-Ara Local Government, also described Akinola’s intervention in APC on all fronts as one the party needs most at this time.
“No doubt, he has been the rallying point in the federal constituency, Egbeda/Ona-Ara, and we are all super proud of him. In Ona-Ara, he is a proud son. And we are proud of his series of developmental projects and interventions to better the people of Ona-Ara, and Egbeda Local Government,” Ogundele said.
“I’m sure, he is doing excellently well in unifying APC. He is making us proud and proving that, if he has the chance of representing this federal constituency, we will know that, we have been denying ourselves quality representation.” Yinka Adeyemi, former Ajorosun LCDA Chairman.
Also speaking, Former Deputy National Youth Leader of APC, Bolaji Repete, explained that Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency is yet to see the best of Akinjide Kazeem Akinola.
“This federal constituency, Egbeda/Ona-Ara is just experiencing the tips of Akinola best in terms of capacity and community development. He has the capacity and networks to transform this federal constituency. One reason why we should give him our total support when the time comes,” Repete further notes.
Akanni Ere, former Ona-Ara Local Government Chairman and state house of assembly candidate in the last general election, emphasis the need for all to come together and ensure the enthronement of Akinjide Kazeem Akinola as lawmaker representing Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
