The All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated an eight-member reconciliation committee to revitalize the party’s structure and address internal grievances in Adamawa State.
The committee was announced on Wednesday in Yola by the APC National Vice Chairman for the North East Zone, Mustapha Salihu, during a follow-up meeting.
This followed an earlier Abuja meeting with the National Security Adviser and Adamawa APC leader, Malam Nuhu Ribadu.
According to a statement by the party’s Publicity Secretary in Adamawa, Mohammed Abdullahi, the reconciliation team is chaired by Senator Muhammed Mana, with Senators Bello Tukur, Abubakar Girei, Binta Garba, and Engr. Martins Babale as members.
Other members include Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakubu, Dr. Bridget Zidon, and Barr. Isa Baba, who serves as Secretary.
The committee’s mandate is to resolve disputes within the party, foster unity among members, and address concerns about the party’s declining fortunes in the state.
Salihu noted that the committee had already begun consultations in Abuja and would soon commence its reconciliation efforts in Adamawa.
The Yola meeting, attended by the State Executive Committee, local government party chairmen, and APC lawmakers from the Adamawa State House of Assembly, emphasized the importance of unity to strengthen the party ahead of future elections.
“The purpose of the meeting is to further solidify on earlier meeting held in Abuja with the NSA (Malam Nuhu Ribadu) who is the leader of the party,” the APC explained.
