The All Progressives Congress has released a timetable for the Area Council elections in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
This is contained in a statement issued on Thursday by the Director of Organisation of the APC, Prof Al-Mustapha Medaner, titled, ‘APC releases schedule of activities for FCT Area Councils election.’
The APC said the timetable was in accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended) and the Independent National Electoral Commission’s guidelines.
According to the statement, the national headquarters of the APC will notify the FCT chapter of the election on March 31, 2021.
Sale of forms will begin at the APC national secretariat on April 7 and end on April 13, 2021.
Last day for submission of completed forms and accompanying documents at the national secretariat will be April 13, 2021.
Screening of aspirants will hold on April 15; publication of claims and objections on March 16; screening appeals on April 17; primary on April 19; and election appeal on April 21, 2021.
The statement partly read, “Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms cost N550,000 and N110,000, respectively, for the chairmanship and councillorship positions.
“Female aspirants and physically challenged aspirants (persons living with disabilities) are to pay 50 per cent of the prescribed fees for each position.”
