As part of its efforts to raise Nigerians’ consciousness of civic responsibility during elections, an All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) support group, the APGA Fan Club, has vowed to tackle one of the electoral challenges known as “voter apathy,” using the November 8, 2025, Anambra State governorship election as a case study.

According to the Chairman of the Fan Club, Hon. Obiajulu Nwoye, who spoke to journalists in Awka on Friday shortly after an elaborate stakeholders’ meeting, the Club—created in 2022 and officially launched by the current APGA State Chairman, Hon. Barr. Ifeatu Obi Okoye, in 2024—aims to influence behavior and drive action by providing compelling reasons to participate.

They intend to show Anambra residents and Nigerians at large that the country’s future lies in their decision to become active participants in the electoral process and to mobilize support for Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s reelection bid in 2025.

“We will do everything electorally possible to educate registered voters in Anambra about the negative effect of not coming out en masse to exercise their franchise, giving them a sense of belonging in a democratic setting. Our major target is to eliminate voter apathy in Anambra, starting with next year’s governorship election in the state.

“Apart from tackling voter apathy, the Club, as one of the frontline APGA support groups championing Governor Soludo’s reelection campaign, also aims to recruit about 30,000 to 40,000 members across the state’s 326 political wards, primarily former party executives from the ward to state level and other APGA and Soludo supporters.

“We are also launching an intensive door-to-door mobilization to ensure Governor Soludo’s second-term victory in the November 8, 2025, governorship election.

“Our doors are open to anyone who wishes to join this movement, regardless of political affiliation, to help the governor realize his vision of making Anambra a livable and prosperous state in Nigeria.”

Hon. Nwoye, who also serves as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Mobilization, used the meeting to commend Governor Soludo for his ongoing transformative policies and projects, especially in roads, hospitals, street lighting, youth development, free education, and employment in the state.
