As President Bola Tinubu set to finally constitute his four-year administrative cabinet, the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeder Association (MACBAN), has called on the President to ensure that its member is among the appointees in the Presidency, even as office sweepers.

The association says the call was necessary considering their prayers and 85 per cent votes that lead to his (Tinubu)’s victory in the February 25th, 2023 Presidential election.

The call was made by the Southeast zonal leader of MACBAN, Gidado Siddikki, while speaking to Journalists in Awka, on Wednesday, on the current State of the Nation.

According to Siddikki, we are demanding for an appointment from Tinubu’s Government, and even as an office sweepers, we are okay with it. All we want is for us to be part of the Government at the centre.

“During the election to my knowledge, my people (Fulanis), voted for President Tinubu because of his predecessor, President Mohammadu Buhari. Buhari told my people to vote for Tinubu, and they all did so. They pray, supported, endorsed and do everything politically possible to ensure his victory. So he should not abandon us.

“In all the boards, parastatals and other appointments the President has made so far, no Miyetti Allah member is among including the recent Senate screen Ministerial nominees.

“Apart from exempting us from the N8,000 proposed palliative and other benefits of the Government, he should appoint us too, even as sweepers at the Presidential Villa we are okay with that.

While commending the South East Governors for their continued support for the association in the region, Siddikki, equally appealed to Government at all level to also fund Livestock Sector, noting that the sector if not properly funded as it stands now, it will go on extinction.
