Former Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, Maj. Gen Ibrahim Ali has charged troops of Operation Hadin Kai fighting Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in Borno and other parts of Northeast Nigeria never to give the terrorists time and chance to recuperate and start carrying out attacks again.
Ibrahim gave the charge to the troops on Thursday shortly after handing over the Command and Control Centre of Operation Hadin Kai to the new Theatre Commander, Maj. Gen Gold Chibuisi at Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri.
He urged the troops to maintain the tempo and increase it to make sure that the terrorists are brought to their knees and to make sure that they surrender.
According to him, “Lot of the terrorists are surrendering, just yesterday, eight of them came out with their personal weapons. Let us continue to put the pressure until they all surrender. We are almost there.”
To the officers of the theatre, the outgone Theatre Commander urged them to make the welfare and training of personnel a priority, adding that carrying the personnel along will help in achieving the target.
He expressed confidence in the new Theatre Commander, Maj. Gen Gold Chibuisi stated that his ability and competence will be used in fighting the terrorists, and this is why he was appointed by the Chief of Army Staff, Maj. Gen Taoreed Lagbaja.
Our correspondent reports that the former Theatre Commander, Maj. Gen Ibrahim Ali has been posted to Ndjamin’a in Chad Republic as the Commander of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), a position held by the new Theatre Commander, Maj. Gen Gold Chibuisi, before his present appointment.
