Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), has moved forward the date scheduled to visit Abia State for his presidential campaign.
The PDP’s Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), in a release said the rally earlier scheduled for Tuesday, January 10, has now been moved forward to Monday, January 9.
The statement signed by the Director Media & Publicity, Atiku/Okowa Presidential Council, Abia State, Kingsley Megwara, did not give reasons for the change in date but simply apologized for any inconveniences it might have cause Atiku’s supporters and party faithfuls.

The venue of the rally, Umuahia Township Stadium with time as 9:00am however remained the same.
With governor Okezie Ikpeazu not attending the inauguration of the Abia chapter of the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Council, members of the PCC vowed to push ahead with the campaign despite his association with governor Nyesom Wike-led G-5 that has refused to identify with Atiku’s campaigns.
Charles Ogbonnaya, the Director General of the Atiku/Okowa PCC, nonetheless, promised to deliver Abia to Atiku at the poll, also maintaining the State remains a PDP stronghold that will deliver all PDP candidates at the forthcoming elections.
