A renowned socio-political group, The Collective Movement (TCM), has commended Mr. Peter Obi, former Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 General Election, for stating that he is willing to work with others, provided their intentions are not centered on state capture.
High Chief Franklin Ekechukwu, the founder of TCM, described Obi’s stance as a promising position that could help address the nation’s economic crisis if he is elected.
He suggested that a combination of Atiku and Obi would yield better results for the country, offering Nigerians a clear choice in 2027—either maintaining the status quo or opting for a better future by electing Atiku and Obi, leaders with a vision for the country’s progress.

Since the 2023 general elections, Nigeria has been grappling with numerous economic, social, and political challenges, with no clear solutions in sight.
Ekechukwu made these remarks in a press statement issued by TCM’s Director of Media, Mazi Edwin Nwachukwu.
He highlighted that Obi’s willingness to collaborate with those who share his vision for Nigeria’s advancement demonstrates his commitment to putting the country’s interest above personal ambition.
According to Ekechukwu, Obi’s readiness not to prioritize the 2027 elections while Nigerians suffer from hunger, poverty, insecurity, and other pressing challenges shows humility and deep love for the nation and its people.
He emphasized that the country is rapidly deteriorating, leaving many uncertain about the future.
“With Obi’s condition, it is clear that His Excellency Atiku Abubakar is the most qualified and suitable candidate who meets the criteria Obi has laid out,” Ekechukwu said.
He praised Atiku as a leader accepted across the nation, describing him as a “national treasure” and “nation builder” who is loved by many and feared by the elite. Ekechukwu added that Atiku’s dedication to education and his vast experience make him the ideal candidate for 2027.
“If Mr. Obi is looking for someone qualified to lead, he should look no further,” Ekechukwu said, urging for the most formidable ticket in the country’s history with Atiku and Obi.
He further noted that the combined influence of Atiku and Obi would greatly benefit the nation, particularly the youth who look up to both leaders.
Ekechukwu also appealed to Obi not to abandon the shared mission due to past conflicts within the PDP in Anambra State, urging him to consider merging with Atiku to renew the dream team that won in 2019.
“Atiku/Obi is the dream team Nigerians want to see in 2027, and we believe this alliance is the only force capable of removing the All Progressives Congress (APC) from power,” he said.
Ekechukwu concluded by stating that Obi’s recent comments demonstrate a true leader’s interest in making a positive impact rather than simply seeking power, adding that Atiku shares Obi’s vision for a better Nigeria.
Obi emphasized that he is not desperate for power, but determined to contribute to Nigeria’s progress. He reiterated his commitment to ensuring no child is left behind, improving health, and lifting people out of poverty—values that Atiku Abubakar has long championed.
