The Acting Chairman of Bauchi State chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Mohammed Tilde has expressed gratitude on behalf of the leadership and members of the working committee for the kind gesture by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar.
Mohammed Tilde particularly thanked the Minister, the Director General, the Secretary, and other Directors of the Ambassador Yusuf Foundation for visiting the Secretariat of the party in a show of solidarity for the new leadership of the party.
The APC Chairman was speaking when the leadership of the Tuggar Foundation visited the APC Secretariat in Bauchi to express solidarity of the Minister to the new leadership of the party.
“We are grateful to God for all the prayers that have been answered to find solutions and effect positive change in our party in the state.
“First of all, we are very grateful to Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, what with this support and assistance to the party in the state in continuation of what he had been doing in the past.
“Secondly, we are thanking President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Three of our people from Bauchi State who were given key appointments,” he said.
The APC Chairman added, “With the gesture of Ambassador Tuggar, and the ones from other appointees of the party at the Federal level, the party will be Strengthened ahead of future elections.”
The acting Chairman used the opportunity to appeal to members of the party to continue to exhibit patience in view of the challenges that bedeviled the party before the 2023 General elections.
He said the previous leaders of the party in the state had done their best to improve the fortune of the party in the state saying that the current leadership was learning from them.
Mohammed Tilde, however, appealed to faithful party members not to relent in praying for better change in APC in Bauchi state and assured that his leadership would be just and work hard to meet the yearnings and aspirations of every member.
The Acting chairman also called on stakeholders of the party to always give advice to the leadership of his working committee on how to move the party forward.
“Do not hesitate to point to us where we make mistakes and we assure you that we will make amends when necessary.
“When it comes to repairing whatever damage that has been inflicted on the party, whether within the state on at the national, we plead that such reconciliation efforts must be done in the right way.
“We are human beings and will always make our grievances known and insist on the right thing to be done. I want to assure you that we will follow the laid down rule to address issues,” he added.
“It is on this note that we are truly happy for what the Ambassador has done for us as a party. I recall when we came on board many members wanted to visit in solidarity from all the communities in the state. We had campaigned massively in 2023.
“After the elections, we went to court up to the Appeal Court. We felt coming on board, will be like punishing our members by asking them to come from places like Gamawa, Itas, Zaki, Toro, and so on to come to the headquarters on solidarity visit. It is not that we don’t want supporters to come but we are feeling for them.
“We are impressed with what the Tuggar Foundation has done today because I see representation, because if all the supporters of the Minister were to be here today, even if individually, we will record over 4000,” he said.
The Acting Chairman also mentioned Senator Shehu Buba and Professor Ali Pate, Minister of Health of Health, and Sadiq Abubakar for their support to the party in the state.
He then urged the stakeholders in the party to unite and work together saying, “Without this unity, we will have problems along the way. So we urge all our members to continue to tow the path of peace”
Speaking earlier, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar announced the donation of the sum of N5 million and a brand new Jeep car to the Acting Chairman, Mohammed Tilde.
Maitama Tuggar, who was represented by the Director General of the Tuggar Foundation, Bello Muhammad Tukura, had led other Directors and coordinators of the foundation to the party secretariat in Bauchi.
In brief remarks before presenting the car key to the APC Acting Chairman in Bauchi State, Bello Tukura disclosed that the Minister pledged to continue to support the party in whatever capacity required.
“We had a meeting with him in Abuja days ago and he asked me to inform you that if not because of the demand of his office which makes him travel frequently and has just traveled, he would have been in Bauchi himself to spend time with party leadership and faithful in the state.
“The Minister asked me to deliver the sum of N5 million to the party and he bought a car for the acting Chairman to enable him to move around for mobilisation of party members.
“We came here with the car and I am presenting the key to you and he directed me to inform you that you can use it to carry out any APC related activities.”
He added, “Ambassador Tuggar asked me to inform you that, whatever is left to be done as far as running the party in the state is concerned, he should be informed. As for the members of the Working Committee, he assured that he will not forget their efforts in whatever assistance needed, as he is willing to provide.”
