The Bauchi State Deputy Governor and State Chairman of the Boundary Commission, Mohammed Auwal Jatau, has pledged to support the National Joint Committee on Field Validation and Harmonisation of Nigerian Ward Boundaries.
The committee is currently in Bauchi State for an official assignment related to its national mandate, which aims to resolve ward boundary issues across the country.
Jatau made this announcement through his Special Assistant on Boundary Matters, Ahmad Garba, when he led a team from the National Boundary Commission (NBC) on a Field Validation and Harmonisation exercise in Bauchi North and Central Zones.
He stated that the current administration, led by Governor Sen. Bala Muhammad, is committed to finding lasting solutions to boundary disputes across the state.
Jatau also commended the efforts of the Director General of the National Boundary Commission and the Surveyor General of the Federation for their dedication to providing platforms to resolve boundary disputes nationwide.
The team leader of the committee, Surveyor Hafiz Aziz, noted that the exercise would provide a lasting solution to boundary disputes and foster better relations between Bauchi State and its neighbouring regions.
He emphasised the importance of support from selected wards in the state to ensure effective service delivery.
Surveyor Aziz assured the committee’s commitment to carrying out its duties efficiently to promote peaceful coexistence and national development.
