The Bauchi State Health Contributory Management Agency (BASHCMA) has launched a contributory health scheme tailored for civil servants, beginning November 1, 2024.

This initiative aims to improve healthcare accessibility and affordability for Bauchi State employees by offering an ID card-based system to access medical services at selected facilities across the state.

Civil servants under the scheme will need to pay only a 10% co-payment for generic medications, easing financial burdens.

To include all eligible employees, BASHCMA has initiated a “mop-up” enrollment to catch anyone who missed the initial registration.

Hadiatu Suleiman Nuhu, BASHCMA’s Head of Media and Public Relations, praised Governor Bala Mohammed’s commitment to the scheme, which underscores his administration’s focus on healthcare reform for civil servants.

Civil servants in Bauchi have expressed optimism, viewing the scheme as a beneficial step toward affordable, quality healthcare.

For assistance, employees are encouraged to contact BASHCMA desk officers in their Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
