Operatives of Bauchi State Police Command has arrested three suspected individuals for criminal conspiracy, theft, and receiving stolen property.
A statement by the Command PPRO, SP Ahmed Wakili contained that the operatives of the Toro Divisional Police Headquarters, under the leadership of the Divisional Police Officer, successfully apprehended the three individuals.
He said, “This achievement underscores the Command’s steadfast commitment to combating crime and ensuring public safety through effective community engagement strategies.
“On December 16, 2024, a report was filed at the Tenti Babba Village Police Station, situated in the Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, regarding the theft of a Boxer model motorcycle.
“The complainant, identified as Haruna Maguwa, reported the unauthorized removal of his motorcycle from his residence.”

Ahmed Wakili added that in response to reliable intelligence and through diligent community policing efforts, the Bauchi State Police Command initiated an investigation into the reported theft.
“This investigation led to the identification of three suspects: Yakubu Aminu, Abdul Lawal, and Buhari Abdullahi, all residents of Magama Gumau Town in Toro LGA of Bauchi State,” he added.
The PPRO added that, “On December 18, 2024, at about 0700 hours, the Police Command executed a successful operation resulting in the arrest of the three individuals.
“The stolen motorcycle was recovered from the suspects, who had intended to sell it to an unsuspecting buyer.”
He added that, “During the subsequent interrogation, all three suspects confessed to their involvement in the criminal activity. They will be formally charged in court for prosecution following the conclusion of the investigation.
“This noteworthy operation highlights the importance of community collaboration in the fight against crime and the enhancement of public safety.
“The Bauchi State Police Command expresses its gratitude for the cooperation and assistance from the community in providing vital information that facilitated the apprehension of the suspects.”
“Furthermore, the Bauchi State Police Command would like to emphasize the significance of reporting suspicious activities and sharing relevant information with law enforcement,” he added.
The Commissioner of Police Bauchi State Police Command, CP Auwal Musa Muhammad also advised motorcycle owners to ensure thorough registration and proper documentation of their motorcycles to reduce the risk of theft and improve the likelihood of recovery.
He reiterated that it remains resolutely dedicated to ensuring public safety and combating crime through effective community policing strategies.
He concluded, “We express our appreciation for the ongoing support and cooperation of the community and anticipate continued collaboration in upholding law and order in Bauchi State.
