The Former Deputy Governor of Osun State, His Excellency, Benedict Olugboyega Alabi (BOA), has congratulated the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on his victory in the just concluded governorship election.
Aiyedatiwa who emerged victorious with 366,781 votes, defeated his closest rival, Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 117,845 votes. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the results on Sunday evening, November 17, declaring Aiyedatiwa winner.
In his congratulatory message issued in Osogbo immediately after the Ayedatiwa was announced the winner, Alabi commended the people of Ondo State for their overwhelming support and show of love for the APC during the campaign, which has translated into victory for Gov. Lucky Ayedatiwa.
He further used the medium to call on the people of Ondo state to continue their support for All Progressive Party, with a strong conviction in the Renewed Hope agenda of Mr. President; noting that it is the duty of every good leader to take decisions for the overall benefit of his followers, and that is what is currently being experienced. He also added that sooner than expected, the country will start reaping the gains of these decisions abundantly.
Alabi further lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for fostering democratic values in the country, adding that the result of Ondo election is a testament to the growing trust in the current administration in the country.
While praising the steadfastness of INEC, Alabi thanked the INEC officials for ensuring that the will of Ondo people was protected throughout the collation period and at the end, declaring a credible winner.
Alabi concluded by admonishing Gov. Lucky Ayedatiwa and his Deputy, Dr. Olayide Adelami to continue to ensure that democratic dividends get to every part of Ondo state.
