Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has reiterated the support of Benue people to President Bola Tinubu-led administration.

Governor Alia stated this on Saturday during the distribution of food items to people of the state by the leadership of South West Agenda 2023 in alliance with North Central Agenda, 23.

Represented by his deputy, Sam Ode, the governor appreciated the organization for returning to appreciate Benue people for supporting the president in the last election.

According to him, “This is the first time someone will win an election and come back to say thank you, only a seasoned politician like Tinubu can do that.

“Tinubu antecedents are many, he was instrumental to Senator Iyorchia Ayu as the Senate President and he stood up against the Abacha junta and many others.”

Alia promised that the people of the state would continue to stand by the president and assured that the palliatives brought would be equitably distributed.

Earlier, the Plateau State governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the 2023 election, Nentawe Goshwe, has said that the North Central geopolitical zone has never had it so good as under the present administration.

He said, “North Central has never had it so good like the present administration, we have the position of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Chief of Defense Staff.”

Goshwe called on Nigerians to continue to support the present administration as he expressed assurance that Tinubu would revamp the economy of the country.

The governorship candidate appreciated SWAGA  for its support to less privileged people with the provision of food items as palliatives to Benue and Plateau people.

He also enjoined Benue people to support the state governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, in his quest to develop the state, just as he called on the beneficiaries of the palliatives to reach out to others and preach to them that president Tinubu loves the state.

In his speech, the national Chairman of SWAGA,  Senator Dayo Adeyeye, who led other principal officers of the organization to Makurdi described the visit as a ‘thank you visit  to Benue people’ for their support by voting President Tinubu in the last presidential election.

Senator Adeyeye said that the country needed a courageous man like President Tinubu at this time to take bold steps to revamp the economy of the nation.

He said, “We (SWAGA) are in Benue to appreciate our people for supporting Tinubu in the last presidential election.

“I want to assure Benue people  that the state will benefit immensely from this administration. We knew that things were rotten so we need someone who is courageous that will take bold  steps.”

Senator Adeyeye enjoined Benue people not to be discouraged with the present economic challenges as a result of subsidy removal, saying the present administration was laying the foundation for a better tomorrow.
