The Chief Operating Officer of Dana Air, Mr Ememobong Etette, has predicted that the sector will experience growth in the new year.
Speaking at the end of year and staff appreciation party held in Lagos, Ememobong who commented the efforts of the minister of aviation and aerospace development, Festus Keyamo so far, applauded him for having the intention of protecting the passengers and the airline’s through his policies since he came onboard.
His words: “The new minister is doing a good job. He’s looking at the airlines, the passengers. The airlines should survive and the passengers should be served properly by the airlines. It is better days for the passengers and the airlines. That is what this government represents.”
Ememobong while using the period to reveal the plans of Dana Air to expand its fleet of aircraft and routes as from 2024 commended the airline customers for staying with it in the past 15 years despite the ups and downs within the period.
According to him, the next 15 years would begin for the airline in 2024 and with the pledge that the airline would increase its relationship with its customers from the new year.
“Without blinking an eyelid, 2024 for Dana Air is growth; fleet, route expansions and when we look at where we were, Dana Air in its 15 years has gone through the good, the bad and the ugly experiences.
“We are learning from the good, the bad and the ugly and we are believing that in 2024 we have learnt what we have passed through in the last 15 years and we will do better in the next 15 years. 2014 is the beginning of the next 15 years and Dana Air will start from there and do better.”
Meanwhile, the airline has been named the ‘Most Innovative Airline of the year 2023’ at the Nigerian Business Leadership Awards held in Lagos.
Commenting on the feat, the spokesman of Dana Air, Mr Kingsley Ezenwa said that the Nigerian Business Leadership Awards, renowned for celebrating outstanding business leaders, organisations, and individuals, focuses on recognising entities that excel through innovative products, excellent services and visionary executive leadership.
The airline COO expressed immense gratitude for the honour, saying that the accolade reaffirmed its commitment to setting industry benchmarks, embracing cutting-edge technology, and continuously improving its services to meet the dynamic needs its passengers.
