The bill for the Upgrade of the Federal Polytechnic Offa, Kwara State from a Diploma awarding institution to a Degree awarding institution has passed the first reading.
Senator Oyelola Ashiru, the senator representing Kwara South Senatorial District, today, laid the bill at the hallowed chamber.
The Federal Polytechnic Offa is one the leading Polytechnics in Nigeria in terms of good technical education, academic excellence, research and innovation and good management functions.
The Polytechnic awards National Diploma and Higher National Diploma in Applied Science, Social Science, Engineering Technology Environmental Technology and Business and Management related courses with full accreditation.
The Polytechnic was ranked best affiliated institution in Nigeria by NUC, best performing institution in Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme by Industrial Trust Fund (ITF) Kwara State and was ranked number 8th among 112 Polytechnics in Nigeria in the last National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) Ranking.
The Polytechnic has witnessed myriad transformation in recent years as the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Lateef Ademola Olatunji was awarded best Rector in two different occasions.
