The Executive Chairperson of Bogoro Local Government Council in Bauchi State has flagged off the remodelling and reconstruction of the palaces of the three village heads in the area.

The three village areas in Bogoro LGA are Bogoro, Boi, and Lusa, each with its respective village head.

While performing the foundation-laying ceremony for the palaces, the Chairperson of the Council, Hon. Lawi Yakubu Sumi, stated that this initiative was to fulfil a promise he made during his campaign.

He had committed to giving a facelift to the palaces of the three most senior traditional rulers, providing them with befitting accommodations.

According to him, “I remember during my campaign, I promised you that if I am voted into office, one of my priorities would be to ensure that you are provided with a befitting palace like your colleagues in other LGAs.”

“Today, I have the honour to lay the foundation for a new palace in Bogoro, Boi, and Lusa,” he added.

The Council Chairperson also mentioned, “You may recall that during our campaigns, I promised to increase the monthly allowance for the 210 hamlet heads.”

“This has been accomplished. I have increased the allowances from N3,000 to N5,000,” the chairperson said.

Represented by his Deputy, Hon. Mulki Masoyi Markus, he expressed gratitude to the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, for graciously approving the contract.

According to him, “I want to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to our amiable governor. Under his leadership, many projects have been executed in Bogoro LGA.”

“We thank you for approving the contract to ensure our traditional rulers have suitable accommodations. May God bless Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed,” he prayed.

He said, “I lay the foundation for the construction and remodelling of the three village heads’ palaces to the glory of God.”

Lawi Sumi also appreciated the three village heads and the 210 hamlet heads for their contributions to peace and order in society.

He reiterated that his administration would be fully committed to the well-being and development of Bogoro LGA.

He appealed to the people of Bogoro LGA to support the developmental initiatives of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed to help take Bogoro LGA to a greater future.

Speaking at the event, the contractor, Eng. Nuhu Sabo, MD of Terra Alliance Nig. Ltd., promised to work diligently to complete the project within the stipulated time.

Eng. Nuhu Sabo explained that each palace would cost N55,506,200 and appealed to the public for their support to carry out the project successfully.

On their part, the village heads of Bogoro, Mr. Nuhu Tafida; Boi, Mr. Bala Ibrahim; and Lusa, Mr. Dauda Zabas, expressed gratitude to Governor Bala Mohammed and Chairperson Hon. Lawi Yakubu Sumi.

They assured the Chairman that they would reciprocate the gesture by collaborating with the state and local government to promote peace, as stated by Gomna James, Chief Information Officer, Bogoro LGA.
