Rising Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Adesina Bola Olaemi, popularly known as Bolade Adeshina, has opened up about how she found her way into the heart of Nollywood when she made her debut in 2019.

According to her, the journey into acting was a childhood dream nurtured in the surroundings of her village, Modakeke-Ife, Osim State, revealing how she was inspired by the rehearsals of late Funke Abisogun and others at the Tanimola group.

Despite her initial reluctance, influenced by her father’s clergy background, she later pursued her passion for acting after leaving her hometown for education.

Now, as a successful entrepreneur turned actress, she reflects on the joy of producing her own movies, emphasising her continuous growth and progression in the industry.

With a new movie project entitled “Layanmo,” and directed by Kayode Adebayo, set to hit movie screens, she noted that the flick will captivate audiences soon.

Adeshina is enthusiastic about her role and the collaborative efforts of 10 actors, including Mide Martins Abiodun, Bakara Ibrahim Yekini (Itele Dicon), Anike Ami Olaniyi, and Mommy Funmilayo Omikunle, among others.

Speaking further about the positive comments trailing her career and how she also deals with the negative ones, Adeshina stated that she appreciates the encouragement from both male filmmakers and fans.

“I believe in the power of positive feedback. It is an acknowledgement that propels one to keep giving his or her best in the face of adversities and constant pressure to be at your best. It motivates us to strive for excellence in our craft.”

Expressing her admiration for the cinema success of Funke Akindele, Mercy Aigbe, and Toyin Abraham, Adeshina commends them for elevating Nollywood beyond expectations.

She sees their accomplishments as a source of inspiration, pushing her to work harder and contribute to the continuous evolution of the Nigerian film industry.

Looking ahead, she has her sights set on collaborations with actors such as Funke Akindele, Toyin Abraham, Bolanle Ninolowo, Gabriel Afolayan, and Sola Shobowale.
