High Chief Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin, the current Balogun of Ibadanland, has been appointed as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland by the city’s kingmakers.
The decision, made by the members of the Olubadan-in-Council, was finalized during a meeting held at Mapo Hall on Friday morning, as reported by Nationnewslead.
Following the recent passing of Oba Mahood Olalekan Balogun, the 42nd Olubadan, the vacancy arose, leading to the nomination and subsequent ratification of Olakulehin’s appointment.
The nomination was put forward by the Osi Balogun of Ibadanland, High Chief Lateef Adebimpe, and was unanimously supported by all attending council members, including former governor of Oyo State, High Chief Rasidi Ladoja, who chaired the meeting.
Notably, High Chief Tajudeen Ajibola, the Otun Balogun, was absent during the proceedings.
With the ratification completed, the next step involves the High Chiefs forwarding Olakulehin’s name to the state governor, Seyi Makinde, for formal endorsement.
