Suspended Bright Omokaro has been reinstated as the Coach of Osun United, The NNL has learnt.
Our correspondent assembled that Omokaro was reinstated by the Osun State Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Yemi Lawal.
Confirming the development, the reinstated coach said, “I received an instruction this afternoon from the Hon. commissioner for youth and sports that all the suspended coaching crew should resume with immediate effect; therefore, I have informed other coaches involved to comply without any delay.
“In the light of the instruction given by the Hon. Commissioner, the need to summon my subordinates cannot be overemphasised. All the coaching crew is hereby summoned to an urgent meeting to discuss our next match and a few other important issues.”
Nationnewslead had reported that the management of Osun United suspended the team’s head coach Omokaro, as well as two of his assistants, Bayo Adesina and Wole Animasahun over poor results.
A statement by the team’s Media Officer, Tajudeen Amodu, had said the decision was taken after the management’s emergency meeting.
He had said, “The meeting was held following the poor performance of the team in the ongoing Nigeria National League where the team lost four matches in a row.
“Assistant Coach, Waheed Olapade, and goalkeeper’s trainer, Moruf Olasupo, are to take charge of the team in the interim capacity with immediate effect.
“Similarly, a player, Olusola Akilapa has been suspended due to gross indiscipline.
“The decision takes immediate effect until the general review of performance during the mid-season break.”
