Chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State set aside their political differences at the Fidau prayer for Professor Wale Sulaiman’s mother, Alhaja Belawu Akanke Sulaiman, held at Ajase-Ipo in the Irepodun Local Government Area of the state on Wednesday.
The event, which featured an array of personalities from the leading political parties in the state, saw political chieftains, including the chairmen of the APC, PDP, and SDP, as well as serving and former members of the National and State Assemblies, in attendance.

Speaking on “The Importance of Fidau,” the guest lecturer, Dr. Yusuf Kolawole Jimoh, admonished leaders to “avoid the mismanagement of the economy,” while also urging parents to fill the gap created by the government’s inefficient management.
The Islamic scholar also charged leaders to “shun corruption and the inelastic acquisition of wealth.”
He commended Professor Wale Sulaiman for his professionalism in the medical field, attributing his achievements to the diligence of his mother.
The cleric emphasized the benefits of imparting knowledge, which he said Professor Sulaiman represents.
He also acknowledged Professor Sulaiman’s philanthropic gestures and his commitment to training future medical professionals across the globe, who, he said, would use the knowledge acquired to foster a better society.
