ONE of London’s longest-standing galleries, Cadogan Gallery, has opened its new flagship space in Belgravia.

Cadogan opened their first gallery in London in 1980, and over four decades later, it has a new space with an inaugural presentation titled ‘Cadogan Gallery: A Group Exhibition’ featuring works by 21 artists. It opened on Thursday, October 3 and runs till February 8, 2025.

Coinciding with Frieze London, the inaugural exhibition features new works by Elise Ansel, Kim Bartelt, Lawrence Calver, Lorenzo Brinati, Gabriele Cappelli, Edoardo Dionea Cicconi, Andreas Diaz Andersson, Ramón Enrich, Richard Hearns, Terrell James, Mimi Jung, Tycjan Knut, Laurence Leenaert, Sam Lock, Nuria Maria, Theo Pinto, Emanuel Seitz, Deborah Tarr, Leonardo Anker Vandal, Richard Zinon, and Maximilian Verhas.

Unified by the artist-centred ethos and distinctive aesthetic, the group show epitomises the gallery’s growth, marking a poignant moment to showcase the evolution of artists since the gallery’s founding alongside a new generation of artists.

Freddie Burness, Managing Director of Cadogan Gallery, said: “Our new flagship space embodies our commitment to our artists to provide an innovative platform to showcase their work. The enhanced capabilities of this space allow us to push the boundaries of artistic presentation and engagement. It is paramount for the gallery to evolve in harmony with the artists we represent, reflecting and amplifying their energy and creative output.

“Moreover, we are immensely proud of the artists who have flourished with us. This new chapter marks a significant milestone in our shared journey. I am delighted that we are advancing the gallery’s future together, continuing to foster and celebrate the creative excellence that defines us.”

Katie Burness, London Gallery Director, added, “Christopher Burness, the founder of our gallery, grew up in the heart of the community, in Cadogan Square. Cadogan Gallery is intrinsically linked to this heritage, forming an essential part of its identity. London is a city that thrives on its rich artistic history and its ever-evolving contemporary scene. Being part of this community is incredibly inspiring. This  new space builds on our long-established roots.”
