Shortly after the demise of the longest-reigning English monarch, Queen Elizabeth II demised broke on the Internet, Nigerians and celebrities across the globe joined the rest of the world to mourn.

The Queen’s doctor had earlier on Thursday in a statement released by the Palace recommended her to remain under medical supervision before she was later pronounced dead.

Following her demise, top celebrities like Ajoke Silva, Yetunde Bakare, Williams Uchemba, Patience Ozokwo, James Brown, Naira Marley, and Elton John, among other celebrities, joined mourners around the world to express their condolences and pay homage to the late Queen’s legacy.

Nigerian crossdresser, James Brown who wrote that “it’s painful that the woman I look up to and admire, the woman of Grace and Principles has left me in this wicked world, also added, “I James brown Queen of Africa duchess of London will bury my godmother’s spirit in Nigeria because it will make me feel very close to her.”

Naira Marley, in honour of the late Queen Elizabeth II, tattooed her face on his arm.

India actress, Sushmita Sen took to her Instagram handle to pay tribute to the Queen, praising her long life.

“What an incredible & truly celebrated life!!! She loved colours & lived every shade of it, in a single lifetime…The very embodiment of QUEEN!!! Rest in peace Queen Elizabeth ll.” Sen also posted a picture of Queen Elizabeth II alongside the note.

British singer and composer, Elton John took to the micro-blogging platform to pay homage to the late Queen. The ‘Rocket Man’ singer called the 96-year-old an ‘inspiring presence’, adding that he will miss the Queen who was a huge part of his life.

Rock stars Mick Jagger and Ozzy Osbourne and actor Helen Mirren are also among the celebrities who have paid tribute to the Queen by posting written condolences online.

The Queen’s 73-year-old son, Charles, automatically became king upon her death. He will be known as King Charles III, although his coronation might not take place for months. Continue Reading
