Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti has labelled Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe as the “best player in European competition”.
Mbappe netted the winning goal late in the game, as PSG beat Los Blancos 1-0 in the Champions League round of 16 on Tuesday.
The France forward is widely expected to swap Paris for Madrid in the summer when his contract expires, but still put in a fine performance for the Ligue 1 side in the first leg of the tie.
“Mbappe is the best player in European football,” Ancelotti said.
On why they lost, Ancelotti added: “”We couldn’t get out with the ball and we misplaced a lot of passes because of their high press.
“They did that well and put us under difficulty in that sense.”
The second leg will be played at the Santiago Bernabeu on March 6.
