A Chinese business delegation from Chadoon Province has visited Delta State with plans to invest in the agriculture sector and generate a projected sum of $24 million from cassava and rice production and processing.
Playing host to the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III and the Ovie of Idjere, Udurhe I, the delegation planned to acquire lands at Jakpa and Ugbodede communities in Warri North Local Government Area.

The leader of the delegation, Lui Singyongand beng Lin, who spoke through an interpreter, said that they would be focusing their attention on improving Nigeria domestic production of cassava and rice.
Lin added that the investment will not only provide employment opportunities but enhance the economic potential of the benefiting communities, the state and country at large.
The Olu of Warri told the Chinese delegation that the communities were yearning for such investments to fast track their development.
The Ovie of Idjere, on his part, stated that adequate land will be provided to the delegation but noted the need for development of the Ethiope River for recreational activities.
Meanwhile, Ogaima Atuwatse III, has called on the Finnish Ambassador to Nigeria, Leena Pylvanainen to harness opportunities in the kingdom.
The traditional ruler gave the charge when the diplomatic envoy paid the Olu a visit at his ancestral home in Ode-Itsekiri in Warri South Local Government Area.
The Olu of Warri said that the development of communities in Warri remained a significant concern to him, hence the initiative to boost the economy of the kingdom.
Leena Pylvainen also said her country sought a closer tie in the area of science and technology and other investment opportunities of mutual benefit with the people of Warri.
The regional development of Warri master plan was presented to the diplomat by a Warri environmentalist, Mr Lukeman Oshodi who said the initiative was to create opportunities to harness the potential embedded in the communities in Warri kingdom.
