The Chartered Institute of Transport Administration (CIoTA) has re-elected Mr. Segun Ochuko Obayendo for a second term as the President of the institute.
In a statement signed recently by the CIoTA National Publicity Secretary, Mrs. Chinwe Uwaegbute, Obayendo’s re-election was announced after election results were collated following the 2024 election process of the institute.
According to the CIoTA statement, “Prince Obayendo first took office in December 2022, following a distinguished tenure as the Group Managing Director of Temple Group Limited, where he pioneered the introduction of the Computerised Vehicle Inspection Service in Nigeria.
“His initial election marked a significant chapter for CIoTA, as he succeeded Dr. Bashir Jamoh, steering the Institute with a vision towards enhancing transport administration through innovation and professional development.
“During his first term, Obayendo has been praised for his commitment to:
-Enhancing Professional Standards: By advocating for higher recognition and acceptance of CIoTA’s certifications both locally and internationally;
– Technological Integration: Continuing his legacy from Temple Group by promoting technology-driven solutions within the transport sector;
– Membership Growth and Engagement: Fostering an environment conducive for increasing membership and ensuring members’ professional growth through various capacity-building programs.
“In his acceptance speech, delivered after the announcement, Obayendo expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him by the members of CIoTA.
“This re-election is not just a personal victory but a reaffirmation of our collective vision for a more integrated, efficient, and safe transport system in Nigeria,” he stated.
“I am committed to building on the foundations we’ve laid, pushing forward with new initiatives, and ensuring that CIoTA remains at the forefront of transport administration excellence,” the CIoTA President added
“The Chartered Institute of Transport Administration looks forward to another term under Obayendo’s leadership, expecting further advancements in the professionalization and technological integration within Nigeria’s transport sector.”
