The ‘coalition of end bad governance’ in Plateau State has suspended the ongoing street protest with effect from Monday the 5th to 6th of August, 2024 in the state.
Addressing newsmen, the leader of the coalition, Comrade Enock Vilret who disclosed this to newsmen said the decision to suspend the streets protests is to allow for dialogue with relevant authorities as stated by the President in his broadcast to the nation.
“We remain committed to our course and are hopeful that this period will facilitate constructive discussions. In the absence of this dialogue within the stipulated time, we will resume our peaceful protest.”
The coalition further disassociated themselves from any groups of protesters carrying Russian flag that is not Nigerian flag stressing that such actions is not representing their movement.
He urged security operatives to arrest any individuals seen engaging in this behaviour as it’s undermine the integrity of their cause.
“It has come to our attention that certain elements apposed to the peaceful manner in which we have conducted our protests over the past four days are planning to incite looting, vandalism. We strongly condemn such actions and call on security operatives to arrest anyone found engaging in this activities.”
According to the group their movement is dedicated to peaceful advocacy and will not tolerate any form of violence or destruction while calling the good people of Plateau state to continue to be law abiding and to hold on to the hope that Nigeria will be great again.
