A socio-political group under the aegis of Concerned People of Ijesa North Federal Constituency (Obokun/Oriade) has appealed to Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, to intervene in the internal political developments within the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The group warned that if not properly managed, the party’s internal disagreements could weaken its chances ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

In a statement made available to journalists, the group advised Governor Adeleke to reflect on past internal crises within the party, particularly the rift between former Governor Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola and Senator Iyiola Omisore during their time in the All Progressives Congress (APC). They emphasized that PDP must learn from those experiences and avoid similar divisions that could derail its winning momentum.

The group specifically called the Governor’s attention to the political atmosphere in Ijesa North Federal Constituency, noting that internal wranglings in the area could have far-reaching consequences if not quickly addressed. They described Hon. Busayo Oluwole Oke, the long-serving and highly respected federal lawmaker representing the constituency, as a major political asset whose presence in the PDP must be safeguarded.

According to the group, there are ongoing attempts by certain stakeholders to create a wedge between Governor Adeleke and Hon. Wole Oke by misrepresenting the lawmaker’s intentions and statements. They stressed that Hon. Oke has never insulted nor undermined the Governor, but has only expressed concern for better governance and development in his constituency.

“Hon. Wole Oke remains one of the most loyal and committed leaders in Osun PDP. He is not against the Governor in any way. His calls for improved governance are in line with his mandate to deliver dividends of democracy to his people. He is always ready to support and defend Governor Adeleke’s administration,” the group said.

The group urged Governor Adeleke to initiate a reconciliation process among political leaders in the constituency, emphasizing the need for unity and collaboration. They maintained that working together as a team is crucial to ensuring the party retains power in the forthcoming 2026 governorship election.

Highlighting Hon. Oke’s outstanding contributions, the group described him as a leader of honor who has consistently facilitated job opportunities, infrastructural projects, education support, and healthcare development across Obokun/Oriade. They noted that his political pedigree and grassroots connection have continually positioned the PDP as the preferred party in the region.

They further called on the Governor to encourage other political representatives, including Senators and House of Representatives members across Osun State, to emulate Hon. Wole Oke’s style of service delivery. According to them, giving back to the people and engaging the grassroots is the best way to maintain the trust of the electorate and guarantee electoral victory.

In conclusion, the group reaffirmed their loyalty to Governor Adeleke while calling for a more inclusive and accommodating approach to party leadership. They emphasized that with unity, mutual respect, and strategic planning, the PDP will remain unbeatable in Osun State come 2026.
