THE Group Corporate Communications and Events Manager, Dufil Prima Foods Ltd, Temitope Ashiwaju, says for government to enhance the lives and livelihood of the people, there is the need for corporate entities and brands to support such efforts since the needs are too huge for any government to handle alone.

Ashiwaju, who stated this recently in Lagos during the donation of some medical equipment and supplies to the Rauf Aregbesola Primary Health Centre, Alimosho, in Lagos, by Dufil Prima Foods, stated that the gesture stemmed from the company’s belief that as critical as medicare is to the people, it is becoming increasingly obvious that provision of such amenities cannot be handled by the government alone.

According to him, after doing a needs assessment of the health centre, the company decided to donate those materials to the hospital for its patients’ use.

Describing the intervention as an ongoing process, Ashiwaju stated that the company has made similar donations across Nigerian cities such as Port Harcourt, Kaduna and Kano.

He, however, expressed the hope that the items will go a long way in making a difference in the quality of healthcare available at the centre, while advising the management and patients of the hospital to put the items to good use to enable them serve the purpose they are meant for.

Speaking also at the event, the Medical Officer of Health, Rauf Aregbesola Primary Heath Centre, Dr Abiola Bolaji, expressed appreciation for the donation, noting its potential of significantly improving healthcare delivery of the centre.

The donation comprised a range of essential medical equipment including mattresses, weight scales, incubators, endotracheal tubes, pillows, infant phototherapy unit and baby bed, among others.
