Customs CG bags certificate of excellence at SABRE Awards COMPTROLLER-GENERAL of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Adewale Adeniyi, has received a certificate of excellence for his first 100 days of impactful public relations at the just-concluded 2024 SABRE African Public Relations Association (APRA) Award and annual conference, held in Côte d’Ivoire.
Chief Superintendent of Customs, Abdullahi Maiwada, the spokesman of the service, who also attended the conference, noted that securing SABRE recognition speaks volume to the winners’ highest level of creativity, integrity and effectiveness in both public relations and governance, as it is the largest continental awards competition for the public relations industry in Africa.
Commenting on the award, Adeniyi appreciated the organisers, saying, “I am very grateful for this recognition and hope that this will inspire us in Nigeria Customs Service and will provide impactful leadership in governance in Nigeria.”
“I also want to express my sincere gratitude to Image Marchants, those behind the PR exploits in Nigeria. Of course, it has been four days of networking, meeting with people and positive public relations and I am optimistic that APRA will continue to wax stronger.”
