Labour Party chieftain Hon. Tinok Andrew has made a call to Kaduna citizens to defend democracy and resist manipulation by voting for the LP in the upcoming local government polls.

In a personally signed statement made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Thursday, Hon. Tinok acknowledged the current hardships being experienced by Nigerians but emphasized that true power rests with the people.

She stated that the system was designed to give the people the power to choose leaders who will serve their interests, saying, “Don’t let anyone take that away from you.”

Hon. Tinok declared that the autonomy of the electorate is a right, not a privilege. This sentiment echoes the principles of democracy, where the people’s voice matters most.

Hon. Tinok criticized those advocating for blind obedience to the government in exchange for benefits, calling it an absurd and insulting narrative.

She stated that this betrays democratic ideals and undermines the rights of the people. The notion that citizens should surrender their rights for benefits that may never come is not only misleading but also dangerous.

Hon Tinok urged citizens to rise above manipulation and vote for the Labour Party, which stands for genuine change, transparency, and a government that serves its people, not itself.

This call to action is particularly significant in Nigeria, where citizens are seeking accountable leadership.

The Labour Party’s promise to address the country’s challenges has resonated with many Nigerians. By voting for the party, citizens can reclaim their democratic power and shape a better future.

Despite these challenges, Hon. Tinok’s message offers hope for Nigeria’s democratic future. By defending democracy and resisting manipulation, citizens can ensure that their voices are heard and their rights are protected.
