Former Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Seriake Dickson, has urged youths in the Niger Delta to shun violence in the planned protests.
He said they can express their grievances without violence or destruction of property.

“A peaceful demonstration is possible. Violence and the destruction of property are not necessary. Your voices will be heard without resorting to violence,” Senator Dickson said.
Dickson, who represents Bayelsa West in the Senate, also asked governors and leaders to engage youths across the country to assuage their anger and frustrations, which he said were genuine.
“Governors and leaders across the country should engage the youth, listen to their anger and frustrations, and assuage them.
“We should listen to them; it is important that we do so that when the issues are addressed, they will be with their input,” Senator Dickson said.
