One of the basic human need is food. Once hunger is sorted, the problem of man is half solved.

The government, at this time, is saddled with the responsibility of meeting this dire need of the citizens through distribution of palliatives and giving loans to farmers to subsidise the price of foodstuff in the market.

Nonetheless, my concern is centered on the appropriation of this scheme through the proper channels in reaching out to the masses.

From antecedents, records showed that a very small percentage of the masses are beneficiaries to this scheme due to the selfish interest of those in charge of the distribution. The palliatives are diverted elsewhere instead.

I would hereby implore the government to look into this matter in order to make life bearable for the citizens.

The government can employ the method of purchasing foodstuffs from subsistent farmers at wholesale across the geopolitical zones in the country, and as well distribute these foodstuffs from the federal level down to the local government levels where the masses can purchase at subsidised rates.

The transaction can be made via banking system with issuance of receipts as proofs of purchase for transparency.

This will definitely bring relief to the entire masses in these hard times if well managed and followed up continuously.

The government in turn will be appraised and commended for a job well done.
