The paramount ruler of Ibadanland, Oba Sen. Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, has urged the Islamic faithful to abstain from the habits they gave up during the 30-day Ramadan fast.
In a congratulatory message to Muslims on completing the Islamic injunction, the Olubadan of Ibadanland advised that the gains and blessings of Ramadan are not limited to the observance period alone but extend to the period after the injunction.

Muslims are expected to keep to the tenets of the Holy Quran as regards the Ramadan Fast to access these blessings.
The monarch, through his Personal Assistant (Media), Oladele Ogunsola, in a press statement made available to journalists in Ibadan, admonished Muslims to continue with their good deeds of the Ramadan Fast period and make them a way of life.
He said, “We should continue with all our good deeds of Ramadan Fast period and make them our ways of life. That’s the purpose and the teaching of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Unto Him). We are not people of genuine faith if our concern and love for our neighbours only last the Ramadan Fast period.”
The monarch also called for a moderate celebration of the event, enjoining all to be cautious and ensure that everything done is within the ambit of civility and consideration for others.
He further stated that the Almighty Allah wants Muslims to be humble in every situation and show kindness to others. He urged Muslims not to let their self-denial of 30 days be of no spiritual value by their conduct during the celebration.
In the same vein, the paramount ruler of Ibadanland prayed for Nigeria’s leadership at all levels, the people of Nigeria in general, and his Ibadan subjects.
He expressed hope that the Almighty Allah would grant all the grace to witness and participate in many more of the celebrations in sound and robust health. The Olubadan concluded his message by saying, “Ramadan Kareem to all.”
