Nationnewslead report that The Ijagbo Descendants’ Union, Abuja Branch has elected Dr. Gafar Alawode as its pioneer chairman to paddle the affairs of the association and enhance growth and development of Ijagbo Kingdom.
The election which was held in Abuja witnessed the presence of Onijagbo of Ijagbo, Oba Sarafadeen Adeniyi Buhari Babalola who was received by the Honorable Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Prince Lateef Fagbemi SAN and other notable Ijagbo sons and daughters resident in Federal Capital Territory.
Dr. Alawode in his remarks congratulated Kabiesi Onijagbo on his installation to the throne of his forebears. He equally congratulated the Honorable Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation on his appointment by President Bola Tinubu.
While speaking on development of Ijagbo Community after the election, the new Chairman, IDU Abuja Branch, Dr. Gafar Alawode pledged that his Executive Committee will work tirelessly to assist the development efforts of the town. He pleaded for the support of Ijagbo indigenes in the FCT so that the new Exco will succeed.
Other executives include: Mr. Olumide Sanni Vice Chairman, Mr. Akeem Sanni, Secretary, Barrister Ayodele Gbenga Shona, Assistant Secretary, Hajia Bolalnle Alaaya, Treasurer, Mr, Yinka Olaniyan, Financial Secretary, Barrister Mayowa Ajayi, Public Relations Officer, Barrister Dare Ajibade, Social Secretary and Mr. Eniitan Taiwo Fafemi, Auditor.
The election process was conducted on behalf of IDU National President by Vice PresidentI I, Alhaji Tajudeen Afolabi.
