Voters in units 4 and 8 in Iddo ll, Okpella in Etsako East Local Government Area, have commended the early arrival of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) personnel and voting materials to the areas.
Speaking with Tribune Online in unit 8, a voter who introduced himself as Abdulrahman Momoh, said that the INEC personnel and materials arrived at about 7 am.
He expressed confidence that the governorship election in the unit would not be marred by voters’ apathy.
The story was the same in Unit 8 as the INEC personnel were busy sorting out the materials in preparation for the commencement of voting as at about 7:30 when Tribune Online visited.
The people were in orderly manners while agents of the various political parties for the election were watching the sorting of materials with keen interest.
This is even as voters, full of enthusiasm, were seen trooping out en masse to their voting centres to exercise their franchise.
There were also heavy security personnel that included the army, police and NSCDC in Okpella Town, leading to peaceful voting in the area.
