The Executive Chairman of Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB), Professor Nasir Garba Anka, has disclosed that providing education is a responsibility for all and sundry.
Professor Nasir Anka made this disclosure today during an inspection visit to some primary schools in Gusau, the state capital, as part of efforts to resuscitate the glory of basic education in the state.
The Executive Chairman of ZSUBEB said that supervision was part of their responsibilities to ensure that pupils and teachers resumed normal academic activities at schools in the state.
“We will not stay at our offices receiving reports; we will continue going out to see the performance of our teachers,” the Chairman said.
He explained that education is a responsibility of all and sundry, and therefore charged parents and guardians to ensure that their wards have resumed back to schools following the termination of the Christmas and New Year holiday.
He opined that the holiday had come to an end since last week and insisted that Governor Dauda Lawal-led administration would not relent in its effort to change the narrative of basic education in the state to a greater level.
During the visit, the ZSUBEB boss commended the effort of the Head Teacher of Army Children School in Gusau, Isa Musa, for his initiative in ensuring that teachers have resumed to schools as at when due and called on all his counterparts to emulate his effort.
In a related development, the Executive Chairman also expressed his dismay at the fire inferno that razed some part of the School for Special Education in Gusau, an incident he described as disheartening. He assured that all necessary actions would be taken to avoid future recurrence.
During the tour, the Executive Chairman was accompanied by his management team, which included permanent members Alhaji Dahiru Shehu Madawaki, Rufa’i Jibiril Muhammad, Bala Aliyu Gusau, and Dr. Rabiatu Musa Mafara, as well as Director of School Services Garba Abdullahi and Acting Director of Physical Planning Aliyu Abdullahi.
