The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Ekiti State Chapter has demanded for the reversal of their tuition fee hike by the management of College of Nursing, Ado Ekiti.
NANS Chairman in Ekiti, Samuel Asaolu made this demand in a statement made available to journalists on Friday.
The students body in the statement seeks the intervention of the Ekiti state government on the reversal of the increased tuition fee.
NANS condemned the hike which it described as “a clear indication of the management’s insensitivity to the plight of students and their parents”.
According to the student body, the management had previously made an increment in the previous semester of the institution before the announcement of another increment of the tuition fee this week by the school’s management.

This unjustifiable hike is a clear indication of the management insensitivity to the plight of students and their parents.
“ We urge the management to reconsider their decision and prioritize the welfare of students. It is unacceptable that the school fees were increased last semester, only to be increased again now. This is a clear case of exploitation, and we will not stand for it.

It is the responsibility of the government to protect the interests of its citizens, particularly students. We demand that the government takes immediate action to address this issue.
“We warn the management of the College of Nursing, Ado Ekiti, that NANS Ekiti will not be silenced or intimidated. We will continue to fight for the rights of students and ensure that education remains a priority in our state. We will not rest until justice is served”, the statement reads.
