The Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar has urged the Federal Government and prominent Nigerians, to empower youths and women with skills, and education to foster innovation, create jobs, and sustainable development that will promote socio-economic growth of the country.

Etsu Nupe spoke at the launching of the foundation and empowerment of the less privileged of Ahmed Idris foundation as part of events to mark the 21st anniversary of Etsu Nupe and 72nd birthday at the Wadata Palace in Bida Local Government Area of Niger State at the weekend.

The Royal Father emphasised the need to provide Nigerian youths and women with quality education, skills training and employment opportunities to make them self-reliant.

He expressed believe in the younger generation to excel if given the needed supports.

The Etsu Nupe applauded the kind gesture of the founder and Chief Press Secretary to the Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Ahmed, while calling on all successful individuals from Niger South Senatorial District (Niger Zone A) to emulate the selfless charitable contributions of the Chief Press Secretary for a better society.

Earlier, the founder of Ahmed Idris Chief Press Secretary Foundation, Alhaji Ahmed Idris, said the initiative aligned with his mission to enhance the quality lives of the vulnerable people in the state and the country at large.

He maintained that the empowerment process will continue as many youths and women will also be captured under the foundation in order to give back to the society.

Alhaji Ahmed Idris Commended the Etsu Nupe for his efforts towards the progress and development of Nupe land and engaged in a empowerment Programme, supporting 500 individuals with cash donating and 15kg bags of rice.
