Concerned indigenes of Ogbaaga in Ayedaade Local Government Area of Osun State have commended the state governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, for justifying the people’s mandate with credible performance since he assumed office.

The people gave the commendation in a petition addressed to the governor where they pleaded with him to urgently find a lasting solution to the persistent chieftaincy crisis rocking the community for the past 21 years.

The petition, signed by Chief Tafa Fafolaji and Chief Adewale Lala, a copy of which was made available to the Nigerian Tribune at the weekend, the people lamented how successive administrations in the state had ignored their cries over the chieftaincy matter.

The people further expressed their displeasure over two siblings who had been vying for the stool of Baale in Ogbaaga community, saying their activities in the community had blocked government’s presence in their midst.

“As of now, there is no visible development in our community. No social amenities of any kind. We don’t have good road, no primary healthcare service, among others.

“Ogbaaga is the only community in the state that is being controlled by two local government areas and this gives us unsettled mind because we don’t even know which of the councils we really belong to,” the petition declared.

The people further noted that situation in the community as at present has discouraged investors, while youths of the community have stopped contributing to the socioeconomic and growth of their fatherland.

The people alleged that the crisis ensued between the two siblings had led to the destruction of properties, including burning of houses and farmlands while some innocent indigenes had also lost their lives in the crisis.

“As a leader and bridge builder, we want you (governor) to quickly intervene in the crisis.  We are law-abiding citizens and we don’t want anything that will portray us as lawless citizens in the state, hence this appeal,” the people pleaded.

Expressing satisfaction in the quality and quantity of completed and ongoing projects round the state, the people noted that Governor Adeleke has steadily positioned the state for economic stability, but claimed not all the people in the state can sleep with their two eyes closed now.
