Osun Commissioner for Land and Physical Planning, Hon. Nathaniel Agunbiade has condemned the attack on the State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, by #EndSARS protesters in Osogbo on Saturday.
In a statement issued by his Personal Assistant, Mr. Niyi Ayeni said the Commissioner was disrupted by the sad news coming out of Osogbo where Governor Gboyega Oyetola was attacked during a unity walk with the EndSARS protesters.
The commissioner said he is constitutionally right of citizens to protest but the protest must be in a peaceful manner as being done across the country.
He, however, alert the protesters to beware of unethical principalities who could hijack the peaceful protest to fulfil their evil intent.
The Commissioner delineate Osun youths as peace-loving and supportive to the government, stating that “this is why Osun is ranked among the most peaceful and secure states in the country.”
Agunbiade sympathizes with the family of the departed as well as the casualty of the vandalisation done on some costly property during the ill-willed rage of the thugs.
He further entreats Osun habitants and citizens to continue lending their supports to the government for the benefits of all.
“I am glad and grateful to God that the Governor is perfectly fine, ” he said.
