The ESFAM-Benin University, Cotonou, Benin Republic, has been opened after an inspection by the university commission, which stopped the activities of the institution for a brief period.
Speaking on the reopening of the institution, an alumnus of the university, Dr Kazeem Akande, said it’s not unusual for regulatory bodies to carry out regular checks, adding that systems should be put in place to ensure such checks don’t disrupt activities on campus.
Akande commended the efforts of the regulatory bodies in ensuring that institutions meet accepted standards.
He further appreciated the management for ensuring that the integrity and standard of the university were intact, as no wrongdoing was found on the part of the university, which led to its reopening.
Akande, who is an alumnus of the institution, noted that the institution has always operated with high and accepted standards. He asserted that many alumni of the institution are doing exceptionally well, which is evidence of the good education provided by the institution.
Akande reassured parents and students of the institution that there is no need to fret and they can trust ESFAM-Benin University to provide their wards with the best education. He said the alumni body is also involved and will do all possible to ensure that the university continues to maintain its standards.
He, however, lauded the efforts of the management while urging the institution to continue to operate at levels above the accepted standards.
