Former Minister of Defense, Prince Adetokunbo Kayode, has praised Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for his overall performance and good governance in Ondo State, stating that his unprecedented achievements will secure his re-election in the November 16 governorship election.

Speaking in Akure, Kayode specifically commended Aiyedatiwa for recruiting teachers across the 18 local government areas of the state, describing it as a crucial step toward improving the standard and quality of education.

The former Minister of Justice highlighted the appointment of Senior Special Assistants on community engagement as a key innovation, allowing for direct interaction with the grassroots, a vital aspect of progressive governance.

Reaffirming his support for Aiyedatiwa, Kayode urged the people of Ondo State to vote for him in the upcoming gubernatorial election.

Kayode said: “I want to commend Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for his achievements since becoming the substantive governor of our state.

“Looking at his recent intervention in the education sector, he has recruited more teachers for our public schools, especially for STEM subjects. Previously, we knew that many schools lacked enough teachers.

“Schools are also being renovated to provide a conducive environment for both teachers and students. Students in tertiary institutions have received scholarships and bursaries.

“A listening governor must understand the needs of his people. Appointing aides to engage with rural communities demonstrates how deeply he understands governance.

“In the areas of potable water and primary healthcare, Governor Aiyedatiwa recognized the need for clean water to prevent waterborne diseases, and he has started delivering water boreholes in rural communities.

“Approval has been given for the provision of solar power. These initiatives have a multi-sectoral impact on public health, agriculture, security, and overall socio-economic development.

“The state government is also encouraging year-round farming to ensure food security.

“Reforms in the agricultural sector, if sustained, will have a profound impact on the state’s socio-economic growth.”

Kayode added: “The Governor has demonstrated his understanding of his primary constitutional responsibility—ensuring the security of life and property in the state.

“He has shown his commitment by strengthening the Amotekun Corps. Recruitment and training of Amotekun Rangers for enhanced security are ongoing, and we expect this to continue vigorously.

“Judging by these people-oriented programs, the citizens of the state can be assured that the governor will address all their needs if given the opportunity.

“For the near future, Lucky represents the future of our state. We encourage our people to support progress, development, and growth.

“All over the world, people desire good governance, but they must make informed choices. For Ondo State, the time has come for a leader like Lucky, who once told me, ‘The harder I work, the luckier I seem to be.’

“Lucky has experience. He is focused, pragmatic, and ready to work. He has persisted through the trials of Ondo State politics and emerged stronger. He is the right choice for our state.”
