The immediate past Clerk of the Taraba House of Assembly, Chief Orngu Mellah, lauded Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba on Sunday for his transformative efforts in the state.

Mellah made the commendation in an interview with journalists shortly after a Thanksgiving service at the NKST Church Mayo-Dassa, Jalingo, where he thanked God for seeing him through a successful civil service career.

Mellah, who commended the governor for his initiatives in free education, healthcare, agriculture, tourism, and infrastructural development, noted that the free education policy would no doubt place Taraba on a global scale in the near future.

He expressed optimism that the next three years under Kefas’ leadership would be even more eventful given the foundation he has laid.

“This is the first time Taraba has had a governor who understands the workings of government and hit the ground running on day one.

“With the foundation the governor has laid in year one, we should expect more. He has a vision for the development of the state, and I am sure the coming years will be action-packed,” he said.

Mellah, during the thanksgiving, expressed his gratitude to God for guiding him through his years of service and his successful retirement.

Reflecting on his 35 years in active service and three years as contract staff with the State House of Assembly after retirement, Mellah described his 38 years of service as eventful and fulfilling.

He thanked the Speaker, John Bonzena, and former Speakers with whom he had worked and urged all to support Governor Kefas in his efforts to drive the state forward.

In his sermon, Rev. Pastor Othaniel Amah admonished Christians to always live a life of service to others in order to be fulfilled.

The Nigerian Tribune reports that the Thanksgiving service was attended by the Chief of Staff to the governor, Dr. Jeji Williams, Dr. Philip Duwe, Chairman Taraba Independent Electoral Commission, and immediate past Speaker of the State Assembly, Prof. Joseph Kunini, among others.
