Afenifere in Ondo State has extolled the virtues of Chief Reuben Fasoranti, the leader of the Pan Yoruba Organization, describing him as an embodiment of sincerity, honesty, hard work, and honour that is worth emulating for the development of the country.
This was contained in a statement jointly signed by the state Chairman, Chief Korede Duyile and Comrade Eric Oluwole, the publicity Secretary of the organisation in the state, to celebrate Chief Fasooranti’s 97th birthday today, May 11, 2023.
According to the statement, Chief Fasooranti, a close associate and confidant of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, has made significant contributions to the development of his immediate community, which includes serving as an elected representative and contributing immensely to the liberation struggles that ushered in Nigeria’s independence from colonial rule.
“Fasooranti’s contributions to human development as a teacher, proprietor, politician, as well as community and national leadership over several decades, have been exceptional,” the statement recounted. “In all of these, he has never been found wanting.”
Despite the challenges he faced while serving the people, the statement added that the Almighty God has compensated him by bestowing on him good life and longevity.
In light of this, the statement urged all Yoruba sons and daughters to emulate the manners of Pa Reuben Fasoranti and serve the people with integrity.
“While wishing him more years of glorious life,” Comrade Oluwole stated, “let us all strive to be good ambassadors of Yoruba land and contribute our quota to the development of our nation.”
