Management of the Federal Polytechnic Offa led by Dr. Olarongbe Afolabi has sponsored researchers from the institution to Abuja for exhibition organized by the Federal Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation.
The exhibition which commenced on 14th of March, 2022 at Eagle Square titled” Sustaining National Economic Growth Through Science, Technology, and Innovation” is tailored towards publicizing and commercializing research results, inventions, and innovations from Nigeria’s research and tertiary institutions and to encourage interactions between researchers and investors in Nigeria.
The league of researchers from the Polytechnic were led by Director of Research and Innovation, Dr. Mrs. Grace Korter to showcase Electronic Voting Machine, Mobile FM Transmitter, Mobile Robot Remote Control, Message Display Billboard, Remote Control Power Inverter, Metal Locator, Blood Spring Machine, Biogas, Mangovita A and Mangovita B, Laxating Herbal Powder, Microcontroller-based Mobile Security Lighting Control Automation System at the exhibition.
Chief Lanre Shittu from Science Laboratory Technology Department invented the Electronic Voting Machine that prevents ballot snatching, multiple voting, and card reader malfunctioning with cost-benefit.
Engr. Gbadmosi Kazeem Efficacy from Computer Engineering Department invented a Microcontroller-based Mobile Security Lighting Control Automation System for security, lighting, and general electrical appliances automation methods. It is applicable in offices, home, industry and for military use as an expert system or surveillance.
Dr. Fowomola M.A., former Dean, School of Applied Sciences and Technology from Science Laboratory Technology Department invented a Biogas cooker that uses animal waste as an alternative for gas to cook. He also produced Mangovita A and Mangovita B for food security for preparation of amala pastes and Laxating Herbal Powder for the treatment of constipation
While Engr. Ojo Joseph Tope from Electrical Electronics Department invented a Mobile Robot Remote Control for carrying load and farm products.
He also invented Mobile FM Transmitter that covers about 500km distance for broadcasting live programs. Message Display Bill Board that can display messages for easy communication.
Other inventions are Remote Control Power Inverter, Microcontroller-based Power Inverter with back up battery for home appliances that can be powered at a distance. Metal Locator for security purposes and Blood Spring Machine for medical use.
Meanwhile, the accessors going round the exhibition stand have commended the research works of the Polytechnic and encouraged researchers to apply for patent right of their inventions. Continue Reading
